Course syllabus

Our courses are designed to help you learn programming skills through practice. Here are the practical projects you'll complete with the help of a mentor as part of this course:

1

Intro to Java

Get started with an introduction to the Java programming language and how to correctly set it up on your system.

2

Hello World

Introduction to the very basic functions of Java by creating your first program.

3

Errors & Data Types

No one is perfect. You can be wrong as a programmer, sometimes the machine can also cause errors to occur. We learn about the various types of errors here, and more importantly, how to make sure they don't happen.

4

Control Structures

Discover how to give your program conditions to make it process situations like humans.

5

While Statements

We don't always know how many times we want to repeat something. Let's use the while loop to solve this,

6

Do-While Statements

Sometimes we want to repeat things conditionally, and other times without conditions. We learn of another take on repetition in this task.

7

For-Loop Statements

Creating a finite amount of repetitions in program operations. We learn of another take on repetition in this task.

8

Switch Statements

Design program logic based on multiple outcomes

9

Arrays

More on the storage of data. Not just single data items, but a collection of data of the same type. How do we deal with it?

10

Advanced Arrays

Expand upon your knowledge of arrays to create efficient storage solutions for your programs.

11

Methods

Not only is it tedious to write the same lines of code over and over again, but it also introduces errors into your code. How can we organise our programs so that we minimise errors, implement modular design, and give our code a clean look?

12

Capstone Project

A comprehensive project that tests the knowledge and skills you've gained throughout the course.
